Crossways

Welcome to Crossways

Crossways is a purpose-built home approximately one mile from Northwich town centre. It is a friendly and welcoming home, with a number of lounges and communal areas. Residents and their families are regularly involved in decisions affecting home life.

Crossways has 39 spacious single bedrooms including two with en-suite. All rooms have television points.

There are a number of pleasant lounge areas throughout the home. These include a coffee lounge where residents can sit and relax with their relatives. One of the lounges is fitted with a hearing loop, a discreet device to improve sound reception and aid those with hearing difficulties. There are also a number of dining areas, though residents can also choose to have their meals in their own room if they prefer. There is a greenhouse at the home and residents are able to enjoy gardening if they wish.

Additional services available to residents include a hairdresser who visits weekly, and newspaper and magazine deliveries, which are arranged through a local newsagent. These are charged on a weekly basis as used. There is also a shop trolley service for items such as greeting cards, toiletries and confectionery.

Activities at Crossways are organised by the activity co-ordinator with the involvement of the care teams, residents and their families. These are designed to match residents’ interests and include a range of pursuits, such as quizzes, bowls, outings and celebrations for special days (such as St George’s day, Chinese New Year and St Patrick’s Day). There is also a computer for residents’ use.

Crossways operates marvellous mealtime’s initiative, with employees striving to make mealtimes a relaxed and enjoyable part of the day. The menu is varied over five weeks and seasonal menus are offered. Residents are involved in setting the menus and can make special requests for meals.

All religious denominations are recognised and religious groups and church representatives pay regular visits. Church of England and Roman Catholic services are held within the home.

Crossways is situated in Lostock Gralam village, a mile away from Northwich. It is close to a number of local parks, Jodrell Bank, the Cuckoo Factory and an ice cream farm

Testimonials

My mother joined Crossways in January of this year. She loves being there, has a lovely room and tells me the staff are so caring and food excellent. She told me that if she has to be in a care home she would not like to be anywhere else than Crossways. She advises that the manager is cheerful and happy and checks on her every day to make sure she has everything she needs. Thank you Crossways.

Testimonials

The last four months of my mum's life were spent at Crossways. After being admitted for temporary respite care it soon became apparent that my mum's condition was gradually deteriorating and she would not be able to return home. The care she received, especially during the last two weeks with us, was exceptional. The staff, including management, were considerate, caring and professional not only to my mum but to all the family.

Testimonials

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you and all your staff for the dedication and exceptional level of care given to our father. We are extremely grateful to your dedicated team who cared for him on a daily basis. We know from firsthand experience through our visits how well our father was cared for and how much care and devotion was shown by everyone. The staff all made such a difference to his quality of life, even though he could be quite cantankerous at times. No matter who was on duty regardless of time, day or night, we know he received the same high quality of care and for this we are ever thankful. It was an extremely difficult decision to move our father into a care home, however strangers quickly became friends and any apprehensions soon dispelled when we observed the professionalism and total dedication of each and every member of your team and how well our father was treated with love and respect.

Testimonials

Crossways provides a most caring environment where the needs of my mother are met with the greatest of respect and in a most dignified manner. Following a change of management, there have been many positive and effective improvements over the past nine months which are clearly evident in various aspects of the day to day running of the home. Any issues raised relating to my mum's care are dealt with in a transparent and sensitive manner. I visit frequently and am made to feel that my input is valued and respected which has resulted in a partnership of trust between my mum, the staff and myself with some positive and effective outcomes. As with any service there is always an opportunity for improvement especially around the issue of communication but I feel confident in saying that Crossways is demonstrating 'work in progress' at its best! It is extremely reassuring to feel that staff are now well led and moving forward as a team which in turn creates a safe and caring haven in which my mum is thriving exceptionally well! She is so very happy in her new home and as a family we are delighted that in addition to the superb care she receives, she continues to have choices in her life and that her dignity is preserved at all times. Thank you Crossways for providing such peace of mind and for creating such a caring environment in which my mum has made a seamless transition from living on her own within the community to living within the protection and comfort of residential care!

Testimonials

My mother in law attends Crossways for occasional respite and frequent day care; the care she receives is outstanding. The staff treat her with kindness, humour and patience. She particularly enjoys the home cooked food. I have been extremely impressed by the management; they provide my mother in law with flexible, personal care and are always available to talk to relatives. I cannot recommend Crossways highly enough as whenever our family use their day care or respite care we are reassured that she is safe, well looked after and happy.
