Eryl Fryn is a 30 bedded home registered to provide general nursing and residential care for people over 65 (3 under the age of 65) along with respite care. It is located in Craigside close to the town of Llandudno and has panoramic sea views of Llandudno Bay including the Great Orme and Little Orme. It stands in spacious grounds with a gazebo and patio area to spend quality time with family and friends that overlook Llandudno Bay. There is a pathway for easy access for wheelchairs and also a sitting area at the front of the house looking towards the garden accessible to all. Bedrooms are furnished and equipped so that life is as comfortable and convenient as we can make it.
Although not purpose built it has a homely atmosphere. It comprises of 3 floors and bedroom accommodation is located on the ground, first and second floor. Access to the upper floors is via a passenger lift and staircases. Bathrooms/shower rooms are on the first and second floor. Toilet and hand washing facilities are located on all floors and the laundry is on the ground floor. Hand rails are provided throughout the home to aid walking for those that need or have sight impairment to maintain independence.
We have a fantastic team of staff who are welcoming, friendly and provide a homely atmosphere to the highest standard. We pride ourselves in providing the best possible nursing and personal care to individuals and offer Stroke Care, Diabetic Care, Parkinson’s, Epileptic, Catheter Care, Bowel Management, Wound Management and Palliative Care (End of Life) although this list is not exhausted and provide companionship, choice, excellent food and personalised social activities. We foster an atmosphere of care and support which both enables and encourages individuals to live as full, interesting and independent a lifestyle as possible.
Due to individuals increasingly fragility and changing care needs the home tries to be flexible and staff have training to meet these every changing needs.
A person-centred approach is adopted and care is provided which seeks to achieve positive outcomes for the individual which in turn increases their self-worth and self-esteem and enriches not only their lives, but that of their families and friends. We focuses on care needs, behaviours, fears, emotional reactions, wellbeing, safety and promoting decision making and independent. Individuals are consulted on decisions which may have an impact of their life. If the individual lacks capacity every effort is made to discuss with relatives, advocates and seek a DoLS so that the individual is getting the best possible care. Advice is sought from GP’s and specialist nurses i.e. tissue viability, nutritionist, SALT etc as the need arises.
Local clergy of all dominations visit the home and arrangements can be made for those wishing to go to their own church locally. The home also has a visiting chiropodist and hairdresser for use by individuals if they so wish. Our activities co-ordinator arranges trips out to local amenities and in house activities are arranged in group sessions including Bingo, games, arts and crafts, pamper session’s and one to one sessions available depending on the wishes and ability of the individual.
Our residents don’t live in our workplace we work in their home.
